The Banyan Tree

Banyan Trees grow primarily in India although you can find some in Florida as well. From its branches grow aerial roots which stretch downward and plant themselves back into the ground.

As you can see from the artwork they are amazing to look at.

We have used paint for the branches and aerial roots, and pastels for the background.

We used our previous experience with the medium and furthered our technique of blending colours.

For each section of the background two analogous (like) colours were chosen and blended together.
