PUNCTUATION
"I am a fullstop and I mean stop."
| We made fullstops out of plasticina and then we put them in the correct places in our passage. |
When we read our passage, it sounded so much better with the fullstops in place.
ANZAC STUDIES |
We used the atlas to find out where Turkey is. Some young soldiers saw the war as a chance to have an adventure and see some of the world. Turkey is a long way from New Zealand.
| Dom turned to another page in the atlas and found a close up map of Turkey and he located Gallipoli and where ANZAC cove is. |
Everyone did a mindmap about ANZAC day and shared it with a partner. |
| Mrs Culling asked us some questions about ANZAC day. Everyone got them all right because they'd drawn such fantastic mindmaps. |
| Mrs Culling will get us to review our mindmaps next week and see if we still have lots of good facts in our head about World War One and ANZAC day. |
After lunch, we also listened to some music from World War One. It is quite different to music that we enjoy today! You could have a look on this great website and see if you know some of the songs! http://www.ww1photos.com/WW1MusicIndex.html |
