CODES AND COMMUNICATION TOPIC
Our inquiry topic for the term is 'Codes and Communication' Our Room 10 blog is one way that Ms Booth and I use to communicate with our families. As part of our unit, we'll be reviewing our blog as a class every Friday.We would love it if you could write a comment for us to view.
Every week, Mrs Culling is teaching us something to say at home using sign language.
We hope that Mums enjoyed the 'I love you Mum' for Mother's Day.
Did the children show you how they can introduce themselves? "Kia ora, My name is ..."
Mrs Culling did take a video of a couple of people signing, but as yet, can't seem to track it down!
Our theme song for the unit is from the olden days(so I heard one of the children say)...
MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE by Police (1979)
The lyrics say that 'Sting' wrote a message in a bottle and then one year later, one hundred million replies washed up on the shore. That's a lot of messages! I hope one of them said that a boat was coming to rescue him!
MATHEMATICS STRAND:
We are learning about measuring. To begin with, we are looking at length. Can everyone please write down their current height in metres and centimetres for us to order. Bring it along for Friday.
